About Me
Hi, I'm El! Growing up, I liked my room being neat and tidy. But it wasn't until 7 years ago, when my now teenage son was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, along with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Anxiety that I learned, first hand, just how important being organized would be.
Having a functional home with a routine schedule has been crucial for my son and our family to be able to achieve a more comfortable and relaxed household. I learned what my organizational style is and quickly saw the benefits it had on me and my family. I knew I wanted to help others feel that same relief.
I hold Foundation Certificates of Study in Chronic Disorganization and Understanding the Needs of the Aging Client from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization. I've also obtained the ADHD Specialist Certificate. ICD is one of the top educational resources in the field of professional organizing, productivity consulting, and ADHD coaching. This not-for-profit organization provides education and training to professional organizers and related professionals who specialize in working with the population affected by chronic disorganization.
I have a Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from RUSH University in Chicago and have worked for over 20 years in sub-acute facilities and hospitals caring for acute Neurologic and Orthopedic patients, including Burn Injury.

I realized that I could meld my OT experience of helping others with my passion for organizing and thus, "The Therapeutic Organizer" came into fruition.
I specialize in helping busy parents (especially those with neurodivergent kiddos) create a workable schedule and environment that is peaceful and less stressful. Whether you are ADHD challenged or not, I provide an array of services and solutions to help cut through the clutter and create a tidy home you can be proud of!
As a registered and licensed OT (MSOTR/L), I'm qualified to assist with home modifications in order for clients to function safely by recommending adaptive equipment such as grab bars, a raised toilet seat or shower chair. I help make items more accessible for people who use wheelchairs, walkers and canes. I arrange and organize the space to prevent falls or risk of injury.
Additionally, I'm committed to helping older adults during life transitions and downsizing as well as those with a physical dysfunction or recovering from an injury. I am trained in teaching and incorporating fall prevention, energy conservation, and body mechanics to optimize your loved one's health, well-being and create a safer home environment.
